We are looking forward to hosting the 2026 USS Stoddard Alumni Reunion in Omaha, Nebraska later this year. The Omaha Metropolitan area, located in extreme Eastern Nebraska on the Missouri River, has a population in excess of 1 million people. Omaha is the home to the headquarters of four Fortune 500 companies: Berkshire Hathaway, Kiewit Corporation, Mutual of Omaha, and Union Pacific Corporation. Other notable companies headquartered in the city include First National Bank of Omaha, Gallup, Inc., Valmont Industries, Werner Enterprises, Woodman Life, and three of the nation's ten largest architecture and engineering firms (DLR Group, HDR, Inc., and Leo A Daly). Notable cultural attractions include the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium (Often rated as the top zoo in the United States), Old Market, Durham Museum, Lauritzen Gardens, and the annual College World Series.
Offutt Air Force Base is home of the 55th Wing, the Fightin' Fifty-Fifth, which is the largest wing in Air Combat Command and the second largest in the Air Force. Offutt is a beautiful community situated near the Missouri River in the rolling hills of southeastern Nebraska. Offutt AFB provides worldwide reconnaissance, command and control, and combat support critical to warfighting commanders and national leadership. It is also the home of the U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) a Unified Combatant Command of the Department of Defense.
We will definitely be going here. Freedom Park serves as a United States Naval Museum on the Missouri River and is home to the USS Marlin SST-2 Submarine and the USS Hazard AM-240 Minesweeper, Anchor and Propeller Garden, Shipboard Rocket Launchers and a Douglas A-4D Skyhawk Jet Fighter and other aircraft.
